Linerealm #1 - How the game started
The line realm sessions are a one-of-a-kind experience and every session is a truly unique unrepeatable experience with its own flavor! If you have been part of the picture and the process you see here, please comment below! Our goal is to feature all artists here that drew in this session!
I was always fascinated by the Idea of drawing simultaneously and knew programs like OpenCanvas for quite a while. Yet when Magma became more popular and I tried hosting sessions I noticed how scattered all Original Characters and drawings were. I knew it must be possible to host jams differently and that characters could all be combined in one big coherent space. As a self-proclaimed apprentice of Kim Jung Gi, I always loved working purely with lines. I suggested the first jams be limited to only using lines and no color. It turned out that everyone loved it as the limitation allowed everyone to focus much more on the actual drawing process and perspective, instead of being overwhelmed by all the tools and technicalities of digital painting.

Then came the color!
It didn't take long and my dear friend and collaborator @ArturFast blasted out some amazing colors at the end of one of the sessions. Everyone loved it and we decided to have one day purely dedicated to lines, one day to values, and the last day to colors and the cycle repeats!

Putting things into perspective.
Eventually, I realized that it would be easier for beginners to experience the joy of putting their Characters and drawings into perspective when adding a gently transparent perspective grid and the outcome was phenomenal, everyone immediately got it and it allowed the professionals as well as newcomers to build entire worlds together! See how we did it in the next Post:
