The classical crowdfunding model I remember hearing about crowdfunding for the first time after finishing high school. It had such a profound impact on me, that I spent the next two months working with my classmate @RootsenSneeky and @ArturFast on “Zombies vs. your Mom”. Yes, it was a plants-vs-zombies spin-off, of which we were convinced: It would all be taken care of by the ingenious invention of crowdfunding. We never knew if the world even wanted that game, as we ran out of funds to develop the prototype before the project could even reach any crowdfunding platform. Ever since then, I get sweaty hands when someone suggests crowdfunding a project. It evokes a sense of stress and an association with huge efforts of preparation in advance. I’m not the only one feeling that. As Daniel Lieske - one of my favorite Illustrators confirmed in an interview. To have a successful crowdfunding campaign, you must convince the fans with perks that cost a tremendous amount of time and resources when all you want to do is focus on making art. Despite the challenges, the initial feeling that got sparked when I first heard the word crowdfunding never diminished. Quite the opposite, how powerful it must be to have a group of people that are backing an idea before it is launched. This idea wouldn’t let me rest, only to return many years later as a much more refined version: Demand Based Crowdfunding It’s a simple mechanism: A user can demand anything from their favorite creator. Other users can join the same demand with a pledge. Eventually, a meaningful enough sum is raised for the creator to potentially fulfill their demand. This shift of mindset on our platform provides us with three powerful scenarios: It’s risk-free: Money doesn’t change hands until a demand is actually accepted. Users are not charged for making demands, they’re just pledging to let a creator know how much they’re willing to spend when the demand gets fulfilled. The ability to ask your favorite creator, artist, or brand to fulfill anything you can think of (nothing naughty) If you’re a content creator yourself, then this is for you. The potential is endless and funnels all requests into a single monetized demand. We’re curious how creators will leverage the platform for themselves and make the most out of it. Give it a try Konduktum allows you to ask any creator to fulfill any desired demand you can think of. An initial demand is started by you as a single user. This demand could be anything you dream of and range from classes of your favorite lecturer to concerts, films, animations, or even products and research projects of companies or institutes you like. You quickly find like-minded individuals, who share your vision and join your demand. As the demand is growing you create a massive incentive for the artist, brand, or institute to sign up at Konduktum and fulfill your demand. To summarize 🍫 Konduktum is a platform to collectively express monetized demands toward all types of creators. You can even express your demand to creators who are not on the platform yet. Starting a demand on Konduktum is incredibly easy and risk-free. We transformed the huge marketing efforts of building a classical crowdfunding campaign into a process where fans are doing that for their favorite creators. For the audience, it’s as simple as writing an email to authentically represent their interest. I’m curious to see you explore, test, and expand the platform with your ideas and visions, demands, and feature requests. 2024 is there for us to shape. This being said, you can also send us a wishlist by starting a demand on our @konduktum profile. Happy holidays & new year!
