My first encounter with Magma was years ago, back when it was still called aggie.io. I clearly remember those small, fun drawing sessions with friends — especially with my good friend Amadeus Waltenspühl.

Back then, we had no clue where Magma would take us. Since Amadeus and I were already doing small pixel jams with a few friends, it made sense to start sharing my Mazk project on Magma. It helped me stay motivated — and I wanted to see if I could use Magma to create assets for my projects.
MAZK meets MAGMA.COM
The first idea that came to my mind was to do theme-based pixelart jams. I started out with three colored rooms. Every color stands for another theme. Themes could be anything! It could be a Ninja-Fluffy-Hardcore-Bratwurst-City-Lovestory-Karottensaft-Fabric or what ever!

It worked really well, and I started focusing more on the visual output. Using the assets I had already created for the game, I began building small test rooms and levels.

The most exciting part was the flood of ideas that came together in no time. Two rival frog brothers battling it out with graffiti in an underground lava world — one a passionate street artist, banished by his older brother who insists that only “real” graffiti belongs underground. Or a bread-baker frog who bakes strange, living frog-buns in his monstrous oven.
THE LAVA RAP BATTLE CAVES
Dangerous instruments, hot beats, and crazy creatures battling it out to claim the title of number one BattleRapper in the fiery depths of the Lava Froggo Caves. Picture amphibian MCs dropping rhymes that shake the underground, while glowing lava bubbles pulse to the rhythm.
Frogs armed with turntables made from volcanic rocks, battling rival crews with spitfire verses and insane flow combos. Only the boldest, freshest rappers survive in this wild, beat-driven showdown — where every rhyme could spark a volcanic eruption!
But then Amadeus showed up and took over the place with his construction cars — turning the whole rap battle into a wild demolition derby XD

The quality of the assets was more than impressive.
Thanks to Amadeus’s crazy car design skills, we suddenly had a whole new direction to explore.

The next jams were already lined up, and I was more than ready to see where this would go.
